15.0 = Elf Tranself Synthese FE 75-90 GL-4/-5ġ33 76.2 11.0 = AMSOIL CTJ SAE 30 Powershift GL-1ġ94 47.1 9.6 = AMSOIL MTF Synchromesh Trans fluid (GM/Chrysler) GL-?Ģ08 41.6 9.1 = Penzoil Synchromesh trans fluid GL-?ġ98 34.0 7.5 = Redline D4 ATF Dexron III / Mercon / API GL-4ġ38 40.5 7.1 = AMSOIL CTG SAE 10W Powershift GL-1 VI 159.0 18.3 = AMSOIL CTL SAE 50 Powershift GL-1 not sure how i feel about the motul 300 being gl-4/gl-5, and i remember oldguy wasn't too impressed. not really interested in mobil 1 (which reminds me, i need to pick out a motor oil soon!). definitely not bothering with royal purple. thoughts on this cocktail? i dunno if it's really necessary here in indiana, but i guess anything's possible with the schizophrenic weather. i've never even seen mtl mentioned in the b6 area. now that i find interesting, and i wonder if anyone else here bothers with it. i looked into each and saw that the mtl isn't the right viscosity for our gearboxes, but several threads came up in the b5 s4/rs4 forum showing people running 2 parts mt-90 and 1 part mtl in their gearboxes. one of my friends with a dsm loves the mt-90 and says it eliminated all grinding for him during winter, and other with a mazda 3 and a miata uses mtl in both. my research is pointing me towards running redline mt-90 in the gearbox and redline 75W90 in the diff (unless the dealer puts in oem fluid when i get the seal changed - i'm not buying the tool for it if i'm only gonna use it once). ![]() ![]() i still haven't changed the gear oil, but with winter looming, i want to. second still has that lovely double-pop, but i take my time, and it's really not a problem unless i'm trying to downshift from third when the car is still cold (sitting overnight in temps that dip below the 40's it seems). Well, 3 months with this car, and i think i'm finally used to the gearbox.
